Front page References Consultancy on the City of Jakobstad’s strategy and bilingualism program Consultancy on the City of Jakobstad’s strategy and bilingualism program Date: 1.9.2023 –31.5.2024 Strategies and programmes MDI is implementing a strategy for the city of Jakobstad, looking ahead to 2030, as well as a bilingualism programme. The strategy is based on an analysis of the current situation of the City of Jakobstad including goals and actions for the city. A statistical analysis will also be carried out. The Bilingualism Programme describes the current state of the city’s Finnish language services and the position of Finnish speakers in Jakobstad. It also defines measures to safeguard Finnish-language services on the basis of the requirements of the Language Act. As part of the mandate, participatory workshops, a council evening school and validation discussions will be organised. Keywords: Cities Programme Strategy
