Front page City of Hamina strategy update City of Hamina strategy update Date: 1.12.2021 –28.2.2022 Strategies and programmes Workshops, webinars, lectures, camps MDI supported the update of Hamina’s municipal strategy for the 2021-2025 election term. The update of the strategy utilised existing information on the situation in Hamina (including the Hamina “municipal card” and benchmarks), implemented a digital survey to deepen the view on what local residents, civil servants and politicians value and how they perceive the future vision of Hamina. The main questions pose in the survey centred around the special features of Hamina and how these could be developed in the future, the means of differentiation, e.g., the question “What makes Hamina special?” In addition, a workshop was held with the local city council, as well as a strategy seminar, where inspiration was drawn for instance from MDI leading specialists Timo Aro (What makes Hamina special and distinctive in regional competition) and Kaisa Lähteenmäki-Smith (“Elements of a good life in Hamina”).
