Front page News News MDI to Draw Future-Oriented Vision for Kotka-Hamina Region MDI to Draw Future-Oriented Vision for Kotka-Hamina Region 20.9.2016 The ongoing gigantic structural reforms in Finland dramatically reshape municipalities in the near future. Cursor Oy, Kotka-Hamina Regional Development Company, has appointed MDI to carry out a future-oriented study in the region. The main objective for the study is to find out, how the region of Kotka-Hamina secures the important development of vitality and lobbying especially from the point of view of administrative structures. The study will be carried out as an intensive process. In the first phase Perlacon Ltd, MDI’s partner in the study, will conduct an analysis on Kotka-Hamina municipalities’ financial performance. Building on this, MDI will continue by designing and implementing an online survey to the municipalities in the region, interview the most central city officials and organise workshops for the regional council. The work undertaken clarified the basic models for the multi-functional development of station areas, as well as providing recommendations for their development and financing.
