Front page News News MDI involved in building a vision for Herttoniemi district MDI involved in building a vision for Herttoniemi district 15.10.2017 The project started at the beginning of October at Herttoniemi Suburban Festival. In the work, the development of Herttoniemi is looked comprehensively instead of separate plans, and the vision is to develop cooperation with local residents and actors. In addition, the work challenges the city’s reformed organization in finding place-based development in a new way. Work begins in the autumn through interviews, gathering information, a regional survey and workshops. During the winter, MDI organizes an open vision evenings for everyone interested, acquainting, networking and reflecting on ways of participating. The vision will be completed in 2018. It outlines the future about 10 to 15 years. Key issues to be considered include planning and refurbishment of the area, improvement and management of streets, parks and green spaces as well as city needs. Multi-functional development of station areas News 28.11.2023 In the early autumn period, MDI and FCG worked on the development of the Asemanseutu project which is part of the project package – Vitality for Urban Regions. The work undertaken clarified the basic models for the multi-functional development of station areas, as well as providing recommendations for their development and financing.
