Front page News News MDI continues sparring small and medium-sized cities MDI continues sparring small and medium-sized cities 11.10.2016 MDI has over the years had a pleasure to be involved in sparring small and medium-sized regional cities – that is, second and third tier cities in Finnish regions. These 50 cities have significant importance in regional structure and in regional development. And the pleasure goes on, as MDI facilitates two networking meetings of SEUTU programme (REGIONAL programme in English), which has been launched to develop these cities. In the meetings, MDI spars launching and developing pilot projects, in between the meetings, sparring takes place via Trello platform. Pilot projects will cover following themes: virtual circulation economic fairs, activity tourism internationalisation and growth model for small scale enterprises. The first network meeting will be held from 16th to 17th November in the city of Forssa, and the second meeting in the spring of 2017. In addition, MDI spars SEUTU programme in the preparation of a communication plan and in the implementation of communication. The client is Suupohja Business Enterprise Federation of Municipalities SEK. Half of the costs of SEUTU programme are covered by 23 cities participating in the programme and the other half by the Ministry of Employment and the Economy. Multi-functional development of station areas News 28.11.2023 In the early autumn period, MDI and FCG worked on the development of the Asemanseutu project which is part of the project package – Vitality for Urban Regions. The work undertaken clarified the basic models for the multi-functional development of station areas, as well as providing recommendations for their development and financing.
