Front page News News Big Data as Business Opportunity and Tricker to More Efficient Public Services Big Data as Business Opportunity and Tricker to More Efficient Public Services 16.7.2015 Ministry of Transport and Communication wants to find out how the big data can arise in various business sectors, and how the big data can be utilized in the more efficient production of public services. The development of self-data practices is one important step in the utilization of digitalisation. Self-data ecosystem requires a reliable exchange of information between different actors. The research is connected to Open Data –project, run in The Six City Strategy – Open and Smart Services carried out by the six largest cities in Finland: Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Tampere, Turku and Oulu. MDI is involved in the consortium led by the Research Institute of the Finnish Economy ETLA, together with Forum Virium and Business Law Finland. The project will be completed in December 2015.
