MDI made a quick visit to the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development (KRD) in Norway. KRD has launched a programme for the development of small and mid-sized city regions. The Finnish experiences and practical knowledge on the Regional Centre Programme, COCO-programme and the Centre of Expertise programme as well as new openings (Innovative Cities, growth agreements) were highly appreciated among the personnel of KRD. The Ministry has an interesting concept of lunch lectures: visiting or in-house experts give presentations on topical issues while the personnel enjoy light lunch.
