Front page News News Metropolitan Policy Quick-Evaluation by MDI Metropolitan Policy Quick-Evaluation by MDI 22.1.2015 Metropolitan policy has been implemented in Finland since 2007. Key themes have been land use, living and transport, international competitiveness, international migration and social cohesion. MDI will conduct a quick evaluation on metropolitan policy as way of development procedure, which has been appreciated for its practicality and tight focus on relevant questions. Challenges have been the commitment of actors and development of differentiated place-based policy. The work is ordered by the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Ministry of Finance. Work will be finalised by the beginning of March 2015 and it will be utilised in the preparation of next governmental programme, which is compiled after the parliamentary elections in April. Multi-functional development of station areas News 28.11.2023 In the early autumn period, MDI and FCG worked on the development of the Asemanseutu project which is part of the project package – Vitality for Urban Regions. The work undertaken clarified the basic models for the multi-functional development of station areas, as well as providing recommendations for their development and financing.
