MDI provides sparring for the innovation activities and environments in the rural areas during the final quarter of 2012. The first part deals with the Kaustinen region and the Lake District of South Ostrobotnia and MDI helps to redefine the existing strengths and to brush up the development spearheads in the regions. The second part focuses on designing a HUB concept for the rural areas. The main objective is to create a distinctive HUB concept for little towns that would also be interesting from the national innovation policy perspective. Both tasks have been appointed to MDI by the Innovation network coordinated by Frami Ltd.
