Front page News News The concept of archipelago and archipelago criteria will be redefined The concept of archipelago and archipelago criteria will be redefined 27.3.2020 MDI and Ubigu are carrying out a study for the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry which will support the Archipelago Advisory Council in defining the concept of archipelago and its criteria. The Archipelago Advisory Council has set up a working group with the aim of defining criteria that better describe the archipelago and municipalities in the archipelago. A study will be prepared in support of the criteria definition task and this will be completed by the end of 2020. The product of the study will be the creation of a set of criteria that help to reduce the scope for interpretation of the archipelago concept and thus also the definition of an archipelago-municipality. Geographical and statistical analyses and participatory methods will be used in the work. The study will be completed by the end of 2020. The work undertaken clarified the basic models for the multi-functional development of station areas, as well as providing recommendations for their development and financing.
