Lapland Strategy work kick-off

Lapland launched a process to prepare the region’s strategy in a workshop at Rovaniemi on March. The work is naturally based on extensive regional reform materials and on the Lapland Agreement, which is the current regional programme. The focus was on the most important focal points, ie. the areas that should be focused on preparing the strategy. In addition, what kind of strategy is targeted and what are the characteristics and features of a good and successful strategy. Finally, the steps of a successful strategy process were defined more precisely up to the end of the year, when the new provincial council should approve the strategy. The work was subscribed by the Regional Council of Lappi, and preparation of the strategy will continue in following months.
