Front page News News Designations: Minna Mayer as lead specialist and Janne Sinerma as specialist Designations: Minna Mayer as lead specialist and Janne Sinerma as specialist 10.11.2021 We are happy to announce that Minna Mayer, who already works at MDI, has been appointed as a lead specialist, and specialist Janne Sinerma joined us in early November. Minna, who has worked at MDI for 3.5 years, has been involved in particular in projects related to employment, well-being and environmental issues. In addition, Minna has been responsible for the well-being at work activities. “In the future, I hope to be able to go even deeper into researching and developing working life issues. These issues are always topical. Working life issues, especially for young people, are close to my heart. Working at MDI has made it possible to develop my own professional skills in many ways. I am happy to continue working and developing these themes!” says Minna about her job. In addition, Minna has started as a mentor in a year-long mentoring programme at the University of Helsinki in which she guides four students on their own career paths. Janne is a human geographer with special interests in structural change in the regions and local resilience. Janne has previously worked in regional and municipal research. He also has strong expertise in the field of strategic development. “I got a fast start with several different projects at MDI. My first week of work was crowned by a very rewarding and educational innovation camp in Vuolijoki, Kainuu,” says Janne after his first week of work. MDI leads the co-creative process of developing, piloting and sharing practices for wellbeing in Sustainable Cities News 12.10.2022 The challenge bundle work is the cross-cutting co-development of the “Sustainable City” programme, co-ordinated by the Ministry of the Environment, with the aim of producing and sharing information, knowledge and solutions to the challenges linking cities’ management and practice in the area of leading work towards sustainability. The work produces concrete development measures, new ways of doing things and peer learning.
