Research on the functionality and impacts of work try-out

Work try-out is a service designed to support the employment of unemployed customers of the Public employment and business services (i.e. TE Services). A total of 40 000 customers access the service annually. Those in the work try-out receive unemployment benefit or a basic daily and expense allowance. Therefore, those persons in the work try-out are free of charge to prospective employers. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment appointed MDI to carry out some research focusing on an analysis of the functionality of the work try-out concept as a whole, considering the benefits and opportunities for the individuals and for the organiser of the try-out. MDI worked in co-operation with Melkior Ltd The research is due for completion by the end of 2018.
