MDI executed a series of five innovation camps in autumn 2013 for the Rural Network Unit at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The aim of the innovation camps was to create, challenge and develop the people, economy and networks of Finland’s rural areas. Every innovation camp was implemented based on the needs of the region. The camps took 50 hours and during that time chosen ideas are processed further, tested and finally conceptualised. The work was finalised on 3rd December 2013. Additionally, the agreement included an option to carry out five camps in 2014. Camp ideas for 2014 are sought by the Rural Network Unit.
