The development of the regions is increasingly channelled towards development corridors crossing administrative borders. The region of Helsinki-Uusimaa (Finland’s capital region) was in the process of preparing the launch of a new comprehensive regional plan with a key part of this preparatory work being the prioritisation of focus areas for the development of the regional structure and the main transport networks. This work was supported by profiling work on Southern Finland’s development corridors which was conducted by MDI. The work contained a summary of the analyses produced on Southern Finland’s development corridor, an online survey and four workshops from along corridors (Tampere, Turku, Kotka and Lahti). Our partner in the visualisation of the results was Nitro ID. The work was completed in February 2017. The final report (in Finnish) can be found on the webpage of Regional Council of Helsinki-Uusimaa.
