FRUSH was a circular economy-related event in 2017 gathering together experts, developers, companies and financiers to Forssa’s old Mill. The aim of the event was to generate new circular economy business models and accelerate the growth of start-up companies in the field. FRUSH included speeches, workshops and pitching. The event provided the latest knowledge, as well as the opportunity for networking and for finding funding opportunities. FRUSH was organised by Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK) and funded by Hämeen liitto, the City of Forssa and SEUTU programme. MDI sparred HAMK in their organising of the event, as well as doing background work to activate, engage and inspire participants. The MDI team was in this case strengthened by Erkki Virtanen. He was one of the initiators and activists of the circular economy in Finland in his former position as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Employment and the Economy.
