The main goal of the project is to describe the scope and supply of market-based education that meets the needs of working life for the working-age adult population in Finland. The study examines the extent of the various educational offerings across different fields. Particular focus of interest here is the market-based supply of education which refers to a market-based, mainly short-term and non-degree-focused educational offer to the adult population and which is chargeable either to the participant or to the participant’s employer. The study includes a literature review, interviews, surveys of employers and education providers, workshops and a report to validate the results and conclusions. MDI carries out the project in collaboration with TK-Eval and FCG. The work is supported by a group of external specialists chaired by Tapio Varmola, MDI’s advisor.
