Developing the European Innovation Partnerships

The European Innovation Partnership (EIP) introduced new tools for working with the rural economy. The aim of the EIP was to develop grassroots-level ideas around agricultural innovations by bringing practical needs and research results closer to each other. MDI organised two workshops for rural developers about the contents and steps of European Innovation Partnerships. EIP was further developed during 2014, including opening the theme application. The EIP groups began work in 2015 focusing on farmers and other actors forming a group around a specific practical question. Experimenting, piloting and testing were the central principles of operation.
