Creating a Regional Development Snapshot Tool to support the Regional Government Reform

MDI led, during 2017, a consortium that constructed a Regional Development Snapshot Tool, which combined the most functional user-driven data production models that the state and the regions used in decision-making. The aim was to select the most important quantitative and qualitative indicators, providing quick and up to date information on regional development in the regions. The aim was to select evidence-based indicators that are so-called rapid and sensitive variables. These variables are essential in identifying the specific features of changes in the regional economy and development. The Snapshot Tool was connected to the prospective regional reform and thus to the regional development system. The Tool was due to be tested in autumn 2017 when the provisional county institutions were due to begin their operations.
