Workshop series to produce an economic vision for the core city of Tampere

The goal of this project is to form the key elements and themes of a new vision for the development of Tampere city centre. ​Phase I of the business vision saw the priming of the work in the spring of 2024 including the kick off workshop, in June 2024. The business vision work is intended to take into account both the operating conditions of companies located in the area and the customer perspective, in terms of the users of the city centre services. Elinkeinovision’s goal is that, by 2040, the centre of Tampere will have plenty of attractive commercial and non-commercial places to visit for Tampere residents, residents of nearby towns and tourists alike. The centre will also provide a significant employment area, boasting 55,000 jobs and several industries, in 2040.​

Phase II of the business vision work for the centre of Tampere is the preparation and processing of scenarios in scenario workshops, implemented as a workshop process, in which different user groups associated with the city centre area participate, such as companies, chambers of commerce, organisations and other actors identified together with the client. Based on the results of the scenario workshops, the needs of the various parties in the centre are determined and clarified in relation to the vision work, the goals for the business vision of the centre are defined based on needs and the measures needed to reach the goals identified in the vision work are determined. As a result of the workshops, views are formed into a vision of what different actors should do to attain the goals. The workshops will be held in September and October.
