Front page News News Operations of the Network of Housing, Land Use and Transport Evaluated Operations of the Network of Housing, Land Use and Transport Evaluated 1.9.2015 MDI carried out an evaluation of the operations of the National network of housing, land use and transport (http://www.mal-verkosto.fi/in_english) during 2012–2015. The network has been very successful as a mediator of knowledge and experiences. Practical measures such as seminars and workshops have maintained a high level of quality and the thematic choices made have been appropriate. The biggest stumbling block has been the annuality of financing that is hoped to be solved through letters of intent in the future. The network is also needed in the upcoming years, since the original need – the examination of regional housing, land use and transport issues – has not disappeared. The regional cooperation also needs a prompter after the vast municipal merger discussion in Finland. In the future, the Network is asked to take the role of inspiring of knowledge-based discussion both nationally and regionally. The evaluation was commissioned by the Joint Authority of Tampere City Region and the work was carried out between June and August 2015.
