Front page News News MDI to develop services around railway stations MDI to develop services around railway stations 28.8.2017 Railway stations and their surroundings have become the buzzing oasis’ in urban development. There are plenty of possibilities for designing services e.g. to ease commuting and leisure travelling of to otherwise serve the residents. Growth Corridor Finland has appointed MDI to carry out a pilot during autumn aiming at scanning possible services and services providers as well as mapping people’s interest for using the services. During the pilot, station hackathons will be carried out to activate and participate residents, travellers and service providers. Case cities will be Seinäjoki and Riihimäki. The results and experiences of the pilot will remain in the use of the entire growth corridor. MDI carries out the pilot in co-operation with First Round Ltd. Multi-functional development of station areas News 28.11.2023 In the early autumn period, MDI and FCG worked on the development of the Asemanseutu project which is part of the project package – Vitality for Urban Regions. The work undertaken clarified the basic models for the multi-functional development of station areas, as well as providing recommendations for their development and financing.
