Front page News News MDI studies the broader regional economic implications of a fast-track in Eastern Finland MDI studies the broader regional economic implications of a fast-track in Eastern Finland 28.2.2019 MDI provides an evaluation of and data visualisation on the impact of a fast railway track in Eastern Finland. The clients of this project are the cities of Kouvola and Porvoo. A fast railway track serving Eastern Finland would run from Helsinki-Vantaa airport to Kouvola via Porvoo. This would considerably shorten travel times to Eastern Finland’s cities (Joensuu and Kuopio). For the evaluation, a study of previous research on the wider economic impacts of infrastructure projects on a regional economy will be carried out. Based on this prior research, MDI will create an analysis and data visualisation of the wider economic effects and the likely impact on the regional development that such an infrastructure investment would create. The evaluation and data visualisation will be completed in January. Share to Share to: facebook Share to: linkedin Share to: twitter
